WHY MUSIC LESSONS?
Many university studies show that elementary students with six months of music experience score more than 20% higher in mathematics testing than students with no music in their lives.
The College Entrance Examination Board finds SAT exams from students that play musical instruments score 35-50 points higher in both the math and verbal portions of the test.
Music students learn craftsmanship as they study how details are put together painstakingly and what constitutes good, as opposed to mediocre, work.
Students of the arts learn to think creatively and to solve problems by imagining various solutions, rejecting outdated rules and assumptions.
Questions about musical form are always the difference between right and wrong. It's always play or don't play (notes or rests) Questions regarding artistic style however, do not have only one right answer. Students of the Arts have the ability to give intellegent, detailed answers to complex questions of form and style.
Music performance teaches young people to conquer fear and to take risks. A little anxiety is a good thing, and something that will occur often in life.

My child does sports. Religious classes, sports, or clubs are just another scheduled activity everbody encounters. Because we have full time hours at the studio, we can accomodate most scheduling issues with open, active communication with your teacher. Our goal is not to put trophies on our shelves to gather dust, but to energize the talents of your children.
Attendance Policy
Consistent attendance in every class (private lessons, guitar ensemble) is critical to a student's academic success. Regular attendance is the responsibility of the student and the parent/guardians. Students who are not present cannot take advantage of the opportunities offered to them.
Students are expected to be at their lesson on time. Students must attend all scheduled lessons/classes unless prior arrangements have been made. Students should be fully aware that interacting during classes constitute a valid and critical part of the course work and can not be duplicated.
Our teachers will assist the student and work with parents/guardians in meeting the goal of acceptable attendance.
Tuition
Private lessons are $160per month (half hour lesson).
$300 month (1 hour or siblings price)

Regular attendance is necessary if students are to receive the maximum benefit from their music education at Trumbull Music Studio.
With increasing frequency parents and students request days of absence for reasons that compromise the integrity of our attendance policy and the overall learning experience. It puts our school in an awkward position of having to judge the validity of such requests. Trumbull Music Studio reserves the right to determine the legitimacy of all absences with or without the consent of parent(s). In cases where a question may arise in the mind of a parent as to the legitimacy of an absence, it is advisable to check with your teacher to schedule another day/time. We encourage active and open communication with parent/guardians.
